The Douglas County TEA Party announces their next big event. Mark your calendars for June 4, 2010 and plan to join us for a live broadcast of the WSB 750 radio Herman Cain show, more great local speakers, and exciting surprises.

Last year’s Labor Day TEA (Taxed Enough Already) Party drew an estimated crowd of 1500 to the Clinton Nature Preserve on Ephesus Church Road in Villa Rica which will also be the site of this year’s event.

Maureen Miller, event organizer, says that, “The main goal of the event is to stress informed voting, promote smaller government, reduced and responsible spending of our hard earned money, and, of course, lower taxation.” Miller said, “We must insist that those we elect to office have OUR best interests in mind. Together we can make the politicians hear us.” The Douglas County TEA Party is a non-partisan group of concerned citizens whose main goal is to educate and encourage involvement in the political process.

The Douglas County TEA Party welcomes all – regardless of political affiliation, race or faith – who share our goal of a smaller, fiscally responsible government that supports free-market principles and rejects “nanny state” measures like big-business bailouts and increased restriction of our Constitutional freedoms. Our events are family friendly, inspiring, and informative.

The Douglas County TEA Party event will be held on June 4, 2010 from 6-9pm at Clinton Nature Preserve located on Ephesus Church Road in Villa Rica. Food and drinks will be available for purchase. The bleachers will be moved for this event so be sure to bring blankets or chairs.

Douglasville, GA — April 2, 2010 — The Douglas County TEA Party wants to let you know that they are hard at work organizing their next big event. Mark your calendars for June 4, 2010. More great local speakers, an awesome keynote celebrity, and lots of fun surprises are already in the works.

Our politicians have been working overtime to bring new taxes and regulations into our lives, haven’t they? Taxes on tanning beds. Taxes on hospital beds. Taxes on fast food. Taxes on soft drinks. Student loan rules that make Uncle Sam the only option. Mandates that force and at the same time limit health care coverage. They keep taxing because they won’t stop spending and they regulate because money inevitably follows control!

State governments are running with a budget shortfall in the millions due to high unemployment and economic woes that are being felt all over the nation. Their answer is to raise taxes and furlough our teachers, police officers, and firefighters. The Federal government loves to fund special interest programs like millions for marketing of Sunkist & Welch’s, billions to keep Amtrak on the rails, millions to provide loans for Mexican drug cartels. (www.downsizinggovernment.org) Millions and billions come out of our paychecks and businesses to fund crazy spending at a time when most of us have been forced to drastically cut our household budgets.

The Douglas County TEA Party is a non-partisan group of concerned citizens whose main goal is to educate and encourage involvement in the political process. We stress informed voting, promote smaller government, reduced and responsible spending of our hard earned money, and, of course, lower taxation. We must insist that those we elect to office have OUR best interests in mind. Together we can make the politicians hear us.

So, mark June 4, 2010 on your calendar and plan to join us for something very special.
